Olivia graduated from the University of Melbourne Medical School with the Ophthalmology prize in 2001. She underwent junior doctor hospital training in Australia before ophthalmology specialist training in the UK, mainly at Moorfields Eye Hospital, and completing a medical research PhD concerning the role of collagen in thyroid eye disease at the University of London. She was awarded Membership of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists in 2008 and has been working as a Consultant Ophthalmic surgeon in Europe (mainly in the UK and Sweden) since 2010.
Olivia’s last public (NHS) Hospital appointment included 12 months as Clinical Lead in Oculoplastic Surgery and a Tutor for the Royal College of Ophthalmologists in London. In addition, she has numerous peer-reviewed medical publications in the field of oculoplastics, and has delivered a number of presentations at international conferences including the European Society of Oculoplastic and Reconstructive Surgery. In private practice Olivia has developed particular interest in rejuvenative and reconstructive techniques. She also holds a Level 2 Diploma from the American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine.
Olivia's clinical practice is focused on periocular surgery, including eyelid blepharoplasties and upper eyelid ptosis (droopiness) corrections. She also considers use of adjunctive treatments such as fillers and application of tissue-specific stem cell derivatives. As both a medical and scientific doctor in relevant fields, and living and working in different parts of the world, Olivia is ideally placed to consider each technique and product available from an independent scientific point of view and offer the best of the best to her patients.
Regarding Asian blepharoplasties in particular, Olivia takes a contemporary approach encompassing the entire peri-orbital area including correction of upper lid ptosis (drooping), congenital or age-related lower eyelid deformity and medial modification, such as epicanthoplasties for congenital folds.
